Autonomous submersed media filter for sump systems
Version 2012-IX
A.R.M.S. - Submersed Media Filter
Autonomous submersed media filter for sump systems
Unlike C.A.S.T. and A.L.F.A. the A.R.M.S. is an ideal tool for chemical filtration or for biological filtration requiring submersed media (denitrification for instance) - in both cases usualy under low water oxygen levels. The water running through the filter is not exposed to free-moving air, keeping the water oxygen levels low. Nevertheless, air pump connection to pump water intake is possible for special cases.

Product Scheme
Water is pumped into distribution cell (4), running through the media and flows back to the sump through the return tube (3).
1 - Water inlet
2 - Adjustable water outlet tube
3 - Water return tube
4 - Water distribution cell
5 - Media cover tray
6 - Backflow pump protection
7 - Overflow ring
8 - Closure
Specification
Inner chamber equipment:
Water distribution cell
Water return tube
Backflow seal
Media cover tray
Tray remover
Return tube filling cover
Optional fine-grained media tray
Water distribution cell and water return tube forms one unit (1+2). Freely inserted backflow seal (3) protects the pumps against accidentally sifted media particles.
If lightweight media is used, protective cover tray (4) shall be used to avoid drifting the media pieces into the sump. If fine-grained media is used, Fine-grained Media Tray (7) shall be placed on top of the distribution cell to avoid media sifting.
Curved end remover (5) is designed for easier removing of media cover tray (4).
Return tube filling cover (6) must be placed on top of the water return tube (2) when filling the chamber with the media.
Optional accessories and spare parts
Fine-grained Media Tray
This tray is intended for using with fine-grained media. Hair-inlets are tight enough for any commercial materials used in reefkeeping.
